Stake Theme:
Hear Him!
In the scriptures, Heavenly Father has repeatedly introduced His Son Jesus Christ with a specific invitation to “Hear Him!” How do we better hear the voice of the Lord? How do we hear Him more often? How does hearing Him remove fear and deliver good cheer?
During the year 2021, we will Hear Him! We will become better prepared to listen. We will have greater peace and joy in our lives through hearing – really listening – feeling the Savior and His message for us and learning what we are to do as we prepare. We will act upon what we have heard and know. There will be no reason to fear, because our testimonies will be steadfast and immovable, and we will have no disposition to do evil. We will hear, feel, learn, know and be of good cheer.

Stake Scriptures:
When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him! (JS–H 1: 17)
If ye are prepared ye shall not fear. (D&C 38: 30) Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.
(D&C 68: 6)
Stake Vision:
We are faithful and we love the Savior. We position Him in the center of our lives. We listen to Him and we Hear Him! We are not afraid because we are prepared. Our thoughts and affections are centered on the Lord. And we are of good cheer – happy in our preparation and readiness for the commotion in the world. Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever. Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day. (Alma 37: 36-37)
We are a people who love the temple, we have missed the temple deeply during 2020 and look forward to attending again in 2021. We live worthy to hold temple recommends. We meet with our bishops so that we may be recommended to the Lord for temple attendance.
Our families recognize their divine nature and live with the understanding of an eternal destiny. We love our families and have faith in the future. We teach the gospel within the walls of our homes and we have cherished sharing the ordinance of the sacrament within our homes during this past year. We also love the gospel and attending church in person and look forward to regular attendance in all of our meetings in 2021. Our homes are the heart and center of our gospel learning. Through Come Follow Me, we acquire and enlarge our knowledge, faith, hope, repentance and belief in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. We are steadfast and immovable because our testimony of the Book of Mormon. This year we will grow closer to the Savior through the teachings of the Doctrine and Covenants.
We have established and continue to nourish within each home a culture of ministering. We live the teachings of Jesus Christ through our daily ministering to others. Our children and youth are the most faithful in the community. They are a blessing and example to others! They are developing testimonies of the gospel. They will receive patriarchal blessings, attend the temple, and serve missions. We believe in the scripture, “If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.” (D&C 38: 30) Preparing for a brighter tomorrow:
- We strengthen our testimonies by taking time to pray – individually and as families, and
particularly as couples. - We improve our access to personal revelation by taking time to listen to and react to the
promptings from the Holy Ghost. - We develop stronger faith by taking time to read about, and gain knowledge of, Jesus Christ.
- We show greater love for others by taking time to touch, talk, and minister.
- We improve our temporal preparedness by taking time to update our food storage and
emergency plans. We live with good cheer knowing that while the world may have tribulation, we may have joy and peace because of our preparation. Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of
God; That your incomings may be in the name of the Lord; that your outgoings may be in the name of the Lord; that all your salutations may be in the name of the Lord, with uplifted hands unto the Most High. (D&C 88: 119-120)
